Our landscaping process encompasses everything you will need for your project - from the planning details all the way to the last touches during the installation. Every landscaping project is different—but creating a beautiful property is similar no matter how big or small the project. Planning is the first step in any landscaping effort. When you contact us for a consultation, our team will schedule a walk-through of your property. We'll discuss your vision. We’ll work closely with you to establish realistic expectations that fit within your timeline and budget.
Next, our design team will create a concept for your approval. We'll also present a cost proposal that includes labor and materials, so there are no surprises after the work begins. Once we finalize the design and cost, we'll schedule the work to accommodate your timetable.
Before we start the exciting process of transforming your property with softscapes and hardscapes, we’ll need to prepare the ground. This activity involves removing unwanted grass, weeds, and debris and then leveling the area.
The extent of ground preparation depends on the scale of the project. However, it usually involves:
- Eliminating any unwanted existing landscaping
- Grading the land
- Contouring landscape beds
- Developing drainage systems
Once your property is prepared, we’ll begin the fun part of the project—planting and installation. This is the stage of the process where you’ll begin to see a true transformation of your yard. We’ll start by installing hardscapes — elements like paver patios, fire pits, and walkways—that create your landscape's foundation.
Then we’ll plant flowers, trees, shrubs, and ground cover. We love to use native plants suited to our climate here in Western Pennsylvania whenever possible. Native plants typically require less maintenance because they have thrived in our particular environment for centuries.
Finally, we’ll add mulch, stones, and fertilizer. We’ll also install decorative rocks and boulders if they are part of your design vision. At the end of the project, we’ll walk the property with you to ensure that you are 100% satisfied with the completed project and offer maintenance recommendations.
