When you contact Dolan's Outdoor Services for a consultation, our landscape specialists will schedule a walk-through of your property. We'll discuss your vision. We’ll work closely with you creating realistic expectations that fit within your timeline and budget.

Next, our design team will create a landscape concept for your approval that includes cost for labor and materials, so there aren't any surprises after the work begins. Once we agree to the design and cost, we'll schedule the work to accommodate your timetable.

Before we start the exciting process of transforming your property with softscapes and hardscapes, we’ll prepare the ground by removing grass, weeds, and debris and leveling the area.

The amount of ground preparation depends on the scale of the project. However, it usually involves:

• Eliminating any unwanted existing landscaping
• Grading the land
• Contouring landscape beds
• Developing drainage systems

Once we have prepared the property, we’ll begin the fun part of the project—planting and installation. This is the stage of the process where you’ll begin to see a true curb appeal transformation.

We’ll start by installing hardscapes — features like paver patios, fire pits, and walkways—creating your landscape's foundation.

Then we’ll plant flowers, trees, shrubs, and ground cover. We use native plants suited to our climate here in Western Pennsylvania whenever possible. Native plants typically require less maintenance because they have thrived in our particular environment for centuries.

Finally, we’ll add mulch, stones, and lawn fertilizer. We’ll also install decorative rocks and boulders if that's part of your landscape design. At the end of the landscaping project, we’ll walk the property with you, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with the completed project and offer landscape maintenance recommendations.
